With the recent spotlight on Chia seeds, especially in the weight-loss industry, everyone wants to know about these wonder seeds.
Chia seeds are cardiac & diabetes friendly and have anti-inflammatory properties due to its fibre content. Chia contains great amounts of tryptophan which promotes good mood, sleep & a sense of calmness. These act as excellent summer seeds, thanks to their cooling benefits.
Chia Seed Green Tea

Ingredients:
- 1 tbsp (15 gms) pre-blocked Chia seeds gel
- 1 cup (250 ml) chilled green tea
- 1 cup (250 ml) green coconut water
- 1 tbsp lime or lemon juice
- sweetener to taste (drip of honey)
Procedure:
- Soak Chia seeds for 2 hours to prepare Chia seeds gel.
- Make green tea either via boiling the leaves or via green tea bags and refrigerate the finished tea.
- Collect green coconut water and add 1 tbsp lemon juice.
- Now add the refrigerated green tea & prepared chia seeds gel to the mixture.
- Finally add a drip of honey or 1 tsp of sugarcane juice.
- Enjoy the super summer cool drink

Chia Seed Mango Orange Lassi

Ingredients:
- 100 ml freshly squeezed orange juice
- 1 small mango peeled & chopped
- 50 ml plain yogurt or curd
- 1 tbsp (15 gms) pre-soaked Chia seeds gel
- sweetener to taste (drip of honey or sugarcane juice)
Procedure:
- Soak Chia seeds for 2 hours to prepare Chia seeds gel.
- Squeeze 100 ml of orange juice.
- Peel & chop a small mango.
- In a jar add orange juice, chia seeds gel, yogurt/curd & a drip of honey or 1 tsp sugarcane juice.
- Pour the mixture into the glass and garnish with chopped mango pieces.
